These delightful cards are easy to
produce using a heart punch. For best
results use a card blank that is the same
colour as either the flowers or the cen-
tral oval.
Materials Required:
Self adhesive felt in Dark Green and
Bright Red.
2 Black 12mm pom-poms.
6 Double ended stamens.
An oval off-cut 76mm x 114mm:
Smooth White.
Large heart craft punch: PPU106.
Nostalgia corner scissors.
Scallop paper edgers: DCU13.
Small stapler and staples.
Strong glue.
Card mount: SF03U-30, Smooth White.
To Make The Card:
You will need to position the flowers
and leaves fairly accurately onto the off-
cut as there is not a lot of space around
the edge. I have marked a centre dot on
the actual size pattern (below) to guide
you. Lightly marking a dot in the
centre of your off-cut before you
begin will help you to position
the pieces.
Using the large heart punch,
punch out eight hearts in red and
four in green for the flowers and
leaves.
Cut the six double ended sta-
mens in half to make twelve single
ended stamens.
Note: If you don’t have a small
stapler, try using double sided tape
to hold the ends of the stamens
instead, see following instructions.

Flowers:
1. Working
straight onto the
oval off-cut, stick
two flower hearts
opposite each other
then staple three
stamens into posi-
tion as shown.

6. Cut each
trimmed heart in
half, then trim the
cut side to form a
natural curve.
Stick the leaves
around the flowers.
Felt is very good at
hiding seams, joins and overlaps, any large gaps
can be filled with the little off-cuts of felt from
the trimmings.
Glue the completed design onto the front of
the card blank. Using the scalloped paper edgers
cut a 34cm length of green felt. Peel off the back-
ing, press the felt into place easing it around the
off-cut and trim the end as necessary. Shape the
corners using the corner cutter if desired.

2. Stick a third
heart in place so that
it covers the staple
and three stamen
ends.

3. Bend the fixed
stamens down over
the lower petal to
get them out of the
way and staple the
last three stamens in
place as shown.
After making a cut with scalloped scissors
the felt left on the sheet will have a ‘reverse’ cut
edge. Both shaped edges make good borders
and this design uses the other pattern.
4. Cover the
visible stamen ends
with the fourth heart
to complete the
petals then move
the stamens into the
positions shown.
Stick a black
pom-pom onto the
centre of the flower
and bend the sta-
mens up slightly
until they look nat-
ural. Make a second
flower in the same
way.

Leaves:
5. To shape the
leaves so they fit
nicely round the
petals they need to
be re-punched. Put
a green heart back
into the punch so
the left top bulge
fits neatly into the
dip in the top of the
heart on the punch.
Punch this side then
repeat with the right
hand bulge. Punch
