Introduction
DeNoise 5
Topaz DeNoise is the most advanced noise removal tool on the market and the only one powered with IntelliNoise technology.
DeNoise 5 specializes in reducing noise while preserving detail and increasing sharpness, allowing you to quickly and easily re-
move the damaging efects of noise from your digital images. Regardless of the conditions of your image or the settings it was
taken with, Topaz DeNoise can help you make the shot. New in DeNoise 5 is the ability to remove horizontal and vertical banding
noise and to correct image black levels.
Noise is diferent for every camera, so Topaz DeNoise was designed to give users the lexibility of working with a basic noise re-
duction worklow or an advanced noise reduction worklow to meet their exact imaging needs.
Your basic DeNoise worklow consists of three steps:
1. Apply one of the default presets that best its your image - if desired.
2. Adjust the Overall Strength slider to perfect the noise removal in your image.
3. Compare the before (original) and after (Preview) of your image, then process your changes.
Basic noise removal typically takes less than 3 minutes to produce optimal results. An advanced worklow expands on the use of
manual slider adjustments by incorporating the use of the other sliders in the Noise Reduction Tab as well as those sliders in the
Detail Recovery tab, and typically takes less than 8 minutes to produce optimal results.
We will review the basic DeNoise worklow here in Quick Start Guide. Most images work
very well with just the presets, however due to a variety of factors that create image noise you may
ind that your image requires some additional work. So in this case you would want to incorporate the
use of additional sliders and preview display modes which is covered in the DeNoise 5 user guide.

Start by opening your image in Photoshop and go to Filter -> Topaz Labs and select DeNoise 5.

Provides “snapshots” of accessible

quick and easy noise removal.
This is the main parameter used
in the noise reduction process.
It removes the majority of the
noise from images.
Toggle back and forth between your
before and after image to compare.

1. Scroll through the default presets in the preset
panel on the left side of the DeNoise interface and try
out each to see which works best for your image. To
select it, just click on it and the sliders will automati-
cally adjust to the pre-deined settings.

2. Adjust the Overall Strength slider to perfect the
noise removal in your image. Increasing it will remove
more noise, however be sure not to over apply this
parameter or it will smooth out your image.

3. Compare the before (original) and after (Preview) of
your image . If you are satisied with the preset adjust-
ments then you can click “OK” to process your image
and save it back to Photoshop.

And that’s it! Clean, sharp, noise-free images are that
easy with DeNoise!
