RELAY WIRING SUPPLEMENT

Applicable to NOS kits:
2000 Series – 02115NOS & 02117NOS
5000 Series – 05030-FI-NOS, 05115DPNOS, 05120NOS,
05122NOS, 05123NOS, 05124NOS, & 05176NOS
Effective 6/1/97, all NOS nitrous oxide injection kits that are intended for usage on vehicles that feature an on-board
computer have been altered to include a 30 amp electrical relay and related components. The inclusion of these
components is designed to isolate the engine’s electronics from the nitrous systems electrical field. Please use the
electrical components parts list (Table 1) and the wiring schematic (Figure 1) for the proper wiring of your kit.

INSTALLATION:
Refer to the wiring schematic (Figure 1) for the electrical system installation.
WARNING! Death or injury may occur from working on a charged electrical system
1. Disconnect the car battery at the ground cable (if not already done).
WARNING! Binding or dragging of the throttle linkage will create a potentially dangerous stuck-throttle condition.
Ensure that the microswitch does not interfere with normal throttle linkage operation.
2. Install the throttle microswitch (1) as follows:
HINT: The microswitch may be mounted to the bracket in a variety of positions and on either side of the bracket. The bracket
may be bent to suit the application.
A. Mount the throttle microswitch on the throttle body, so the throttle linkage movement triggers the microswitch (Fig. 2).
B. Adjust the microswitch to trigger at wide-open throttle by adjusting the microswitch’s position to ensure the actuation
arm of the microswitch “clicks” at the same point your throttle linkage reaches wide-open against the throttle stop
(Position A).
C. Ensure that the microswitch is activated by the accelerator pedal: Slowly press the throttle to the floor, while you listen
for the “click” of the microswitch (Position B).

3. Install the NOS toggle arming switch inside the car, within easy reach of the driver.
4. Connect the orange relay wire to the battery (+) terminal.
5. Connect one wire from each solenoid together. Join the solenoid wires to the blue relay wire. Connect the remaining
solenoid wires to a ground.
6. Connect the green relay wire to either terminal on the microswitch.
7. Connect the open terminal on the microswitch to a ground.
8. Connect the red relay wire to the middle (#2) terminal on the toggle arming switch.
9. Connect the (#1) terminal on the arming toggle switch to the switched +12 volt power source.
NOTE: When selecting an ignition-switched +12V source, ensure that your source is capable of handling the amperage of the
fuse provided by NOS.
10. Connect the (#3) terminal of the arming toggle switch to a ground and reconnect the battery.
