Materials Required:
Brightly coloured thin card.
White and brightly coloured Tulip fabric paint.
Ribbon bows in bright colours.
Fine Black drawing pen.
Tracing paper, pencil and scissors.
P. V.A. Craft Adhesive.
Brightly coloured card mount:
SF03U, SF04U or SF05U.
To Make The Card:
These bears and balloons are great for mixing
and matching using brightly coloured card
mounts and scraps of card. Choose whichever
shapes you want and combine them in different
ways. I have given a few examples but I am
sure you will come up with lots more ways of
combining them to make attractive cards.
I have given instructions for each individual
piece so you can just choose whichever ones
you want to use for your mix and match.
Bears:
Place the tracing paper over the diagram of
your chosen bear and trace the outline. You then
have a choice of tracing the features and transfer-
ring them to the card or you can ‘freehand draw’
the features onto the card later
using the diagram to guide you.
Place the tracing face down
over the ‘bear coloured’ card and
retrace over the lines to transfer
them.
Cut out the bear and using a
fine black pen go over the traced
features or draw them in ‘free-
hand’ now. Dot the whites of the
eyes in with white tulip paint.

Balloons:
Some of the balloon tails are
cut from card and others I have
painted on. I have included the
tails on the diagrams so you can

do whichever appeals to
you. If you want to make the
whole thing from card draw
round the tail as well, if not
draw along the dividing line.
Trace the balloon you
want to use and transfer to
the card as before. Cut out
the balloon and add the
highlight(s) in white tulip
paint, you can draw the

shape of these onto the balloon first
to guide you if it helps or make
them from white card and glue
them on.
Ball:
Trace the ball
and lines dividing
the coloured areas.
Place the tracing
face down over the appropriately
coloured card and
retrace over the
lines. Cut out the
ball and colour
in the black areas
with a black pen or
make them from
pieces of black card
glued over the
coloured card.
Actual Size
Assemble the
pieces as you
choose and glue
them onto the card,
add in balloon
string as needed
using the black
pen.
Glue a brightly
coloured little bow
onto the neck of
the bear to finish.
