displayed across the two huge video
screens provided by congress for the
audience in the 1200 plus seat auditorium
to enjoy the presentations.
The International UFO Congress held in
Laughlin Nevada each year always
presents a vast mixture of material,
comprising of regular UFO research,
conspiracy theories, spiritual
observations, abduction cases, crop circle
research and several other diverse
subjects.
the huge video screens are filled with
action and information making the
experience very enjoyable for the
audience present.
However when the original footage had
played through the following ‘slow
motion’ review played ok and those in
the audience watched with interest as
during the air display a dark object was
seen and claimed to pass the display
aircraft at close quarters.
Santiago’s personality and charm is
always well received by the audience and
over the years he has presented some
fascinat in g materia l, it must also be said
that some of the material to be presented
out of his home country was not as
convincing as others but I believe this
stems from the perception of what the
witnesses see and record and the fact that
probably the Mexican view of the subject
is far less comple x than ours.
If I had been asked to evaluate the
footage as possible ‘UFO’ material I feel
I could not have made such a positive
evaluation.
The object, as seen here . Is only visible
for three frames, it is very black and has
no visible detail when compared to the
aircraft that it allegedly passes
dangerously close to. In reality I think
the object passes very close to the camera
and is probably some mundane debris or
rubbish thrown in the air between camera
and aircraft.
As with most alleged UFO case studies
the viewer or reader must make up their
own mind as to what can or cannot be
accepted as credible images of possible
UFOs. However the story becomes far
more in-depth according to Santiago.
I have attended the event many times
representing the recently closed UFO
Magazine and have been privileged to be
invited as a speaker on a couple of
occasions. The usual ‘spoilt for choice’
line up was as interesting and diverse as
ever but I consider myself a nuts and
bolts UFO researcher and wanted to
concentrate on a couple of presentations
in particu lar.
However this time I was surprised to
discover that the content of the lecture
this year was to predominantly focus on
two cases from The United Kingdom.
The weeks events were started by a
presentation from the UK, in fact it was
Welshman Matthew Hurley who recently
authored the book:
The first was to feature Simon Anderson,
who according to Santiago’s research
resides in the southern city of
Goodwood. Well Goodwood home to the
‘Glorious Goodwood’ horse racing
summer festival is little more than a large
village situated on the beautiful south
downs of Hampshire.

Who took centre stage to entertain the
first audience of the week.
Over the last few years certain names
have become synonymous with the areas
of this subject that interest me personally.
Mexico’s Jaime Maussen and Santiago
Garza have produced much ‘alleged UFO
footage’ from their homeland, some not
without controversy, likewise Michael
Hesemann was always a welcome
presenter with plenty of footage to share.
That geographical error cleared let’s take
a look at the presentation.
What was presented was the alleged
ongoing experiences of Simon Anderson
a young man who lives on a caravan park
in Goodwood. Santiago explained that
this man had and is still hav in g regu lar
UFO sightings and what’s more he had
recorded many of these sightings on
video camera.
We were the presented with several close
up video clips of military helicopters
‘claimed to be’ harassing the witness
‘our cameraman’.
Michael was European Director of The
International UFO congress until last
years 2003 spring presentations, when he
stood down. His replacement however is
a name that is fast becoming known
around congress audiences, researchers
and enthusiasts alike it is Haktan
Akdogan.
The first sighting to be presented on
screen took place at an event held on the
Goodwood race track. This was a ‘Grass
Car’ race meeting, which on film
appeared as a really big weekend event.
There was plenty happening both on and
off the race track at what looked like a
great weekend event.
It is at this point that I became
‘concerned’ as to the claims that were
made before this paying audience.
In the past people have accused me of
being ‘a debunker’ I refute those claims
absolutely. I am a true believer and am
convinced that there is or has been some
E.T. contact with this planet and that it
(according to the evidence) is till
continuing and is being reported by
witnesses the world over.
Turkish based Haktan is behind the
Sirius website, he is also curator of
Turkey’s only UFO Museum, he also
presents regular radio and now TV
programmes on the subject.
Along with the car racing, there were
other attractions that included a fun fair,
side shows and an air display. It was
during this air display Simon captured on
video what Santiago claimed was a UFO.
Let’s start with Santiago.
Santiago’s style is well known and those
who have enjoyed his presentations
before now that Santiago prepares his
presentation on video tape and narrates
over the tape, so from beginning to end
