Multi-level laser exposure Ð The HP multi-level laser exposure print system can
modulate laser dot size and adjust dot position to produce superior tone rendition.
Laser position and power adjustments are key to creating stable high-frequency
halftones. Instead of grainy looking images where you can see the individual dots that
form the images, you get a near photographic quality image. This is one of the
technologies that allows HP to create image quality well beyond a 600 dpi binary
system.

combining up to four colors

In contrast, the single level (binary) printing process does not allow the colors to be
mixed within a single dot. Thus, single level (binary) printing is limited to creating
colors by placing various colored dots (limited to eight colors) close together within a
cell to create the illusion of another color.

Organic photo conductor (OPC) velocity control encoders Ð The
HP Color LaserJet 9500 series printer achieves sub-pixel accuracy in color plane
registration. This is accomplished by close design tolerances, registration calibration,
and OPC velocity control with stepper drive encoders. These encoders provide closed
loop velocity control for each OPC.

carry greater loads because of increased tooth surface contact.

Stiff frame Ð The stiff frame was designed to keep all mechanical and electrical

prevent contamination of rollers, which can result in repetitive banding defects.
