Overview
The Repair/Adjustment section of the Service
Manual provides information that enables the
Service Representative to restore the product to
within specifications after fault isolation.
The section contents lists, in sequence, all the
items of the section, with page references. Each
entry in the section contents appears exactly as it
appears in the manual.
Repair Procedures
This repair subsection contains instructions for
removal and replacement tasks. A removal and/or
replacement task is included when it is not
obvious how components are removed and
replaced, or when special conditions (such as an
adjustment) must be met during these tasks.
Step-by-step removal procedures for a specific
component or assembly are provided.
Illustrations and photographs are used to assist
you with the procedures. You should refer to the
specific parts list illustration (listed under the
repair title) for locating most components within
a procedure.

Use a flat blade screwdriver, and gently pry
out to release the tabs on one side.
Removal
1.
Disconnect the power cord.
2.
Remove the scanner.
3.
Remove the access door assembly. Utilizing
a screwdriver or similar tool, slightly
separate the access door assembly and top
cover at either pivot to release the access
door assembly pivot from the top cover.

(one side, then
the other)
Remove screws
4.
Remove the print head.
5.
Remove the clear paper out guide.
6.
Remove the paper cassette.
a.
Push down on both green paper
cassette retaining tabs.
c.
Place the machine on a level surface, and slightly lift
the cover away from the chassis on that side.
b.
Pivot the cassette toward the back of
the printer to disengage the tabs on
the bottom of the cassette and the
printer.
d.
Repeat the procedure for the tabs on the other side.
e.
Lift the top away from the chassis.

Disconnect the ribbon cable to the control panel assembly
c.
Lift paper tray from printer.
Replacement
1.

Remove the 4 machine screws at the bottom
of the unit.
Ensure the ribbon cable is properly routed and not
twisted during machine cover installation.
8.
Remove the top cover.
a.
Locate the 6 slots underneath the
HomeCentre (three on each side).
2.
Reconnect the ribbon cable to the control panel assembly.
3.
Position the top cover on the HomeCentre. Align the latches,
then snap the cover onto the chassis.
4.
Reinstall the following:
a.
Paper cassette.
b.
Paper out guide.
c.
Print head
d.
Access door assembly.
e.
Scanner
f.
Power cord.

REP 2.2: Eject Roller Assembly

Perform the following:
a.

Remove the two screws that hold the eject roller
assembly to the printer, and remove the assembly.
2.
Position both thumbs at the lower, front
corners of the Exit Guide. Apply modest
pressure simultaneously up and toward the
rear of the printer to unlatch the exit guide.
3.
At each end of the eject roller there is a roller shaft
securing cam ( Figure 4-1) . Roll out the end out slightly
(by the mark on the cam arm) and rotate until the
arm points down.

Rotate the guide approximately 90° up and
toward the rear of the printer.

Lift the exit guide from the printer.

Perform the following:

Disconnect the paper path sensor wiring
harness from connector J3 on the printer
interface PWB. See Figure 4-2 .

Disconnect the cam sensor at connector J7 on the printer interface PWB.
3.
Remove the cam sensor by pulling it out of its mounting slot ( Figure 4-3) .

Remove the paper path sensor and mounting
bracket.
