AN/PRC-112G ® CSAR Transceiver

GPS capabilities into a sin-
gle handheld radio for military,
paramilitary, law enforcement, and government agencies.
And it communicates to our plug-and-play Quickdraw2 ®
Interrogator onboard a wide variety of fixed- or rotary-wing
aircraft or on a U2 or UAV. The radio is also interrogatable
by the RSC-125G 2 or AN/ARS-6 Version 12 PLS ® 3 , as an
independent location method, using DME.
Blue Force Tracking Capability
The versatile AN/PRC-112G radio can store up to 250
navigational waypoints, enabling it to be used as a stand-alone
GPS receiver for navigation and route management — or as a
VHF/UHF AM transceiver for ground-to-air communications.
In addition, several of our future upgrades are aimed at
enhancing its ability to be used to locate assets and personnel
for Blue Force Tracking. We plan to include full imple-
mentation of an LPE waveform as an option to the
AN/PRC-112G radio, if approved by the Government. Its
TDMA structure and AM/FM modulation will allow it to
securely support communications among thousands of users
simultaneously. And we delivered L-band handheld units
for the PRESS ACTD in 2004 using Global Personnel
Recovery System technology. Once GPRS technology is
minaturized, we plan to integrate it into our radio, combining
BFT, CSAR and Situational Awareness capabilities in a
single unit.
Continually Updates and Detects GPS Interference
The radio contains a CA code, 12-channel parallel GPS
Receiver, with position updates each second. And it
detects GPS interference, providing visual notification of
its presence and relative strength. Interoperable with over
31,000 PRC-112 and HOOK2 family radios delivered to
U.S. and international customers, the AN/PRC-112G radio
is perfect for unilateral or coalition operations. Best of all,
the radios are continuing to save lives around the world.

The latest in the line of HOOK2 ® CSAR products, the flexi-
ble, easy-to-use AN/PRC-112G transceiver is fully upgrade-
able so you can add new features and waveforms as they
become available. In fact, 2-way SATCOM and 406 SARSAT
beacon modes are available now as software options 1 , and
additional capabilities are planned. This spiral develop-
ment approach also allows you to field this proven technology
right now. And the radio is based on — and backwards com-
patible with — the field-proven AN/PRC-112, AN/PRC-
112B (HOOK-112) and AN/PRC-112B1 radios.
LPI/LPD Communications in Just 1 Button Press
The upgraded AN/PRC-112G radio sends encrypted global
positioning (lat/long or GEO), message and identification,
providing essential, quick and accurate location and rescue
information for air crews, forward air controllers and personnel
operating in hazardous conditions. And the single, short
encrypted burst to CSAR aircraft provides low probability
of detection and interception communications.
Multiple Terminal Area Communications and
Guidance Modes
The General Dynamics AN/PRC-112G radio features direct ,
line-of-sight voice and encrypted two-way data communica-
tions between the survivor and the rescue forces — with no
handoffs required. It also combines Distance Measuring
Equipment (DME), beacon, transceiver, transponder and

The GPS-112 Program Loader – Improved
The GPS-112 Program Loader consists
of an interface box, a cable set and a
Windows ® -based software package to
enable the user to easily and quickly
load encryption key, datum, frequencies
and user I.D. codes into the AN/PRC-
112B (Hook 112), AN/PRC-112B1
and AN/PRC-112G transceivers and
the Quickdraw and Quickdraw2
Interrogators. It also now includes a
set-up wizard and a cloning feature. It
can also load new Operating System
software as upgrades become avail-
able as well as program the legacy
AN/PRC-112 radios.
1 To add the 406 SARSAT option, all radios must be
returned to the factory for upgrade, due to COSPAS/
SARSAT regulations. For radios with NSN#5820-
01-526-8808, the 2-way SATCOM option is a field-
installable software upgrade. Radios with NSN#
5820-01-504-5465 must be returned to the factory
for a hardware upgrade to add either option. Call for
a quotation.
