So gründete hier beispielsweise vor über 140 Jahren der Amerikaner Florentine Ariosto Jones
eine gewisse «International Watch Company» (IWC).
Entdecken Sie die Stadt Schaffhausen mit ihren Fassaden, Erkern und Gässchen. Dass hinter
den Mauern Schaffhausens längst ein frischer Wind Einzug gehalten hat, davon zeugen unter
anderem die Hallen für Neue Kunst, das IWC-Museum, das Kulturzentrum Kammgarn oder die
berühmte Fischerzunft mit ihrem GaultMillau-Koch André Jaeger.

Schaffhauserland is a piece of paradise. Imagine feeling the fine misty spray of the thundering Rhine
Falls on your skin… and allowing yourself to drift gently down the middle of one of the most beautiful
river landscapes in Europe! Or delighting in the fruity fresh wines of Schaffhausen Blauburgunderland.
Schaffhauserland truly is as inspiring and titillating as ever.
It is here, for example, that the American Florentine Ariosto Jones founded a certain «International
Watch Company» (IWC) over 140 years ago.
Discover the town of Schaffhausen with its façades, oriels and alleys. That a breath of fresh air made
its way over the wall into the city of Schaffhausen long ago is evident from, among others, the «Hallen
für Neue Kunst» (a museum of contemporary art), the IWC Museum, the Kulturzentrum Kammgarn or
the famous Fischerzunft with its GaultMillau chef André Jaeger.

The Rhine Falls. Europe’s mightiest
waterfall – well worth a visit
The Rhine Falls – what a magnificent sight! Across a width of 150 m, an
enormous mass of water plunges downwards over the rocks – with a
thunderous roar! The full force of this spectacle is best experienced from
the Rhine Falls basin. Get into the spirit of things – be sure to take a boat
to the central rock and climb to the top. From Schloss Laufen, perched
high above the Rhine Falls, a footpath leads past the roaring waters to
the «Fischetz» platform.

Get within touching distance of the Rhine
Falls with a cruise around the Rhine Falls
basin, or a trip to the central rock. Please
note: Depending on the swell and the wind,
this trip may sometimes be a little wet.

Savour a few delicacies against a unique
and spectacular backdrop! In the Restaurant
Schlössli Wörth all the senses are catered
for – top class cuisine and the warm ambiance
make each visit a real pleasure. And for the
littlest guests, there is a rainbow-coloured
playroom. On Sundays a qualified kinder-
garten teacher looks after them (12 – 3pm).

Restaurant Park am Rheinfall
From this restaurant with its big terrace, you’ll
enjoy a unique panoramic view of the Rhine
Falls. Tasty, fresh Swiss specialties are served
under the slogan «Schweizer Chuchi» – the
Swiss kitchen. Events for up to 200 people can
be accommodated. The snack bar and souvenir
shop is right on the banks of the Rhine Falls.
