Origami Envelope
This simple origami envelope is fun to fold and very
effective. You can really go to town with the paper you use
for this. Perhaps you could use old comics or magazines,
gift wrap or wallpaper samples, as well as origami paper!
You will need a small sticker or dab of glue to seal the
envelope.
1. Start with a square of paper,
coloured side down. You now
need to mark the middle point,
which we did by drawing very
faint pencil lines with a ruler and
putting a tiny dot where they
joined, before rubbing out the
lines. Now turn your square
diagonally and fold the two sides
into the centre as shown.
2. Fold the lower point up along the
dotted line..
3. ...so that your model looks like
this.
4. Open out again.
5. Now fold the bottom portion of
the model up, to meet the crease
you have already made.

6. Fold the lower edge up once more
along the existing crease.
7. Bring the sides back in again along
the existing crease lines too.
8. Turn the top of each side flap
down a little, matching the
bottom edge of the fold as
shown.
9. Open out once again, and reverse the
folds you have just made so that your
model looks like the photo above.
10. Fold the flaps in again
and tuck them inside the
envelope, creasing well.
Almost done!
You can now either tuck the
top flap inside the
envelope, or seal it up with
a sticker (as shown
overleaf) or a dab of glue.
