society is not only an invasion of privacy but very
expensive. The money could be spent on more
police and other towns with CCTV still have these
problems.

would do this and not the owners of the dangerous

to install surveillance cameras. You believe that if
you are a law-abiding citizen and you have done
nothing wrong then it doesn’t matter that your
every move is monitored and logged.
to use number plate recognition technology to
discourage known criminals, some of whom are
selling the fake goods, from entering the town.
to install speed cameras. The evidence that they
reduce accidents and make streets safer and nicer
places to be is overwhelming.
You believe ways to deal with the issues are:
not to install speed cameras. You believe they cause
accidents by people slowing down quickly before
them and speeding up after them. The money they
make is not spent on improving roads.
not to install CCTV. It is rare for police to actually
look at it for minor crimes like drunkenness and
vandalism.
to encourage citizens to be more responsible and
use their camera phones if they see someone
committing a crime. You believe this would make
individuals more accountable for their actions.
