The Sex Education Show
Vs Pornography

Britain is in a state of sexual meltdown and the most at risk are teenagers. STIs are increasing at an epidemic rate; 21 teenagers get pregnant every day but most alarmingly up to two thirds of teens are receiving potentially harmful information and impressions about sex via the accessibility, quantity and graphic nature of internet pornography.

Presented by Anna Richardson The Sex Education Show returned for a second run and turned its attention to how ease of access to pornography is affecting young people in Britain today.

This series examined how the internet has led to an explosion of accessible sexual content on young people’s computers and mobile phones as well as the gradual ‘pornification’ of the offline world and how this unlimited access to porn affects children and adults.

In a world where many young people use porn to learn about sex, picking-up potentially dangerous behaviours and attitudes along the way, it’s time to fight back with some sex and relationship education. Accompanied by a team of sexual health experts, presenter Anna travelled to secondary schools across the country giving young people the crucial sex education they are missing.

As part of the series, Anna also went on an investigative journey looking into the pornification of today’s society and the effect it has on the nation.

Anna also met people whose lives has been affected by porn, and talked to adults and young people alike about their attitudes and experiences. Along with startling statistics, the show painted a revealing portrait of sexual behaviour in Britain today.

The Sex Education Show - series 1

The first six-part series of The Sex Education Show tackled the nation's sexual ignorance and reticence by capturing a wide range of different personal experiences of sexual issues and problems, as well as offering candid advice. The series uncovered the secret sex lives of teenagers as they talk about pornography, abortion, sexual disease, homosexuality, peer pressure and pregnancy. Together with the results of the biggest ever television survey of teenage attitudes to sex, it revealed a striking picture of the real state of sex education in Britain today.
