Materials
Chunky Weight Yarn (I love Bernat Softee Chunky)
Crochet Hook, size K
Basic Pattern for Cloche is 1 hdc in front loop only, 1 hdc in back loop only
(So, where pattern calls for two hdc in one stitch one hdc will be in the back loop and one will be
in the front loop.)
Chain 3. Join with slip stitch to form a ring.
Rnd 1:
Chain 2 (counts as first hdc) 7 hdc in ring. (Do not join at the end of rounds): 8 hdc
Rnd 2:
2 hdc in each hdc: 16 hdc
Rnd 3:
*1 hdc in next hdc, 2 hdc in next hdc*: 24 hdc
Rnd 4:
*1 hdc in next 2 hdc, 2 hdc in next hdc*: 32 hdc
Rnd 5:
*1 hdc in next 3 hdc, 2 hdc in next hdc*: 40 hdc
Rnd 6:
*1 hdc in next 4 hdc, 2 hdc in next hdc*: 48 hdc
Rnds 7-15: 1 hdc in each hdc around. Join with slip stitch in next hdc
(END BASIC PATTERN)
Rnd 16: Ch 3 (for first dc) 1 dc in each hdc around. Join. (This is the round that the "ribbon"
is threaded through)
Rnd 17: ch 1, sc in same stitch and in each dc around. Join.
Rnd 18: ch 1, sc in same stitch, *1 sc in next 2 sc, 2 sc in next sc*, 1 sc in next 2 sc. Join.
Rnd 19: 1 row even. Join.
Rnd 20: ch 1, sc in same stitch, *1 sc in next 8 sc, 2 sc in next sc*, 1 sc in next 8 sc. Join
Rnd 21-23: 1 sc in each sc around. Join with slip stitch and end.
With new piece of yarn, chain 132. 1 slip stitch into each chain. End. Thread "ribbon" through
round 16. Over 3 double crochets, under 1, etc. Tie in a bow.
