I.                   THE SONG OF SONGS—The Greatest prophetic song

A.                 The purpose of prophetic songs is to reveal the fresh heart of Jesus (Rev. 19:10)—the beauty, splendor and majesty of His personality. Jesus has a testimony that He wants proclaimed to the nations. This testimony reveals what He is thinking, feeling and doing in the past, present and future—in God’s economy these are all unified in eternal present tense.

B.                 The Holy Spirit’s exalting of Jesus in the Song of Songs—Jn. 17:26

      1. The Holy Spirit is filled with desire and longing for the Person of Jesus. Jesus is on His heart in all that the Holy Spirit writes and in all His works.
      2. In this Song, the Holy Spirit gives the Bride the language of her heart.

C.                 This book is the greatest song ever written. Through its pages we see the love language between Christ and His Bride.

D.                 The sweet communion that keeps the heart of the Bride steady through the darkest night of human history until the consummation of love at His second coming.

E.                  The Song of Songs is above and beyond all the songs that have ever come from human heart and human lips. A song coming from the courts of heaven.

F.                  This Song tells of the slain Lamb and the slain bride.

G.                 In this Song of all Songs, we see the progression of weak love unto mighty love, immature love to mature love.

      1. This book, like no other book reveals the glory of the Bride’s destiny.

Through its pages we see the aching heart of the Bridegroom and the rejoicing heart of the Father.

      1. Every movement of this Song reveals the holy communion between the human soul, the Father and the Son.

H.                 The Bride chooses to worship her Beloved in His presence and in His absence.

      1. She sings of His greatness in seasons of refreshing and in seasons of adversity.

I.                    In Psalm 29, David describes a people who are the mighty ones in the earth, giving to the Lord the glory due His name.

      1. There will be a generation who will awaken the dawn of His coming as they worship in the beauty of holiness.
      2. From every tongue, tribe and nation the Bride will be singing with one voice, “Come, Lord Jesus” The Spirit and the Bride say “Come”. “Here I am, I have made myself ready.”
      3. This song begins with a cry from the Bride’s heart to the Father, “Let Him kiss me with the kisses of His mouth (word).
      4. The Bride continues to sing until His Word is so living inside of her that His own authority on her voice brings about His return.

J.                   The Bride looses judgment on the nations of the earth—The Worship Movement at the End of the Age and on into the millennial kingdom.

“Let the saints be joyful in glory; let them sing aloud on their beds. Let the high praises of God be in their mouth, and a two-edged sword in their hand to execute vengeance on the nations and punishments on the peoples.” Ps. 149: 5

      1. The Bride will have the high praises in her mouth, which will execute His judgments in the nations of the earth. As she worships, His government is established.
      2. Worship is the highest form of spiritual warfare. In an hour when Satan is accusing God and the Bride day and night (Rev. 12:10), she will arise and exalt His name.

“My soul is among lions; I lie among the sons of men who are set on fire, whose teeth are spears and arrows, and their tongue a sharp sword. They have prepared a net for my steps; my soul is bowed down; they have dug a pit for me; into the midst of it they themselves have fallen. My heart is steadfast, O God, my heart is steadfast; I will sing and give praise. Awake my glory! Awake lute and harp! I will awaken the dawn. I will praise You, O Lord among the peoples; I will sing to You among the nations.” Psalm 57: 4-9

      1. In Revelation 19: 6 it says her voice is the sound of many waters and the sound of many thunderings. Her voice now sounds like His voice! She is ready to rule and reign with Him. His wife has made herself ready.

II.                the Bride is  given many prophetic promises—Song 1:1-4

A.                 Within this first chapter reveals many hidden promises, a foreshadowing of what is to come for the heart that says yes. There are countless gifts given to the Bride that will give her the necessary strength for the journey. And there are countless rewards promised.

B.                 In this chapter that marks the beginning of her journey there is nothing lacking from the heart of her Bridegroom.

      1. The extravagance of Her Bridegroom’s heart is evident and drips of love with every verse. He longs for her to go her way into the fullness of His love.
      2. Before she can even ask the question He answers her. She is full of fears, shame, and condemnation. O but He sees all things. There is nothing hidden from His sight. With Infinite wisdom, perfect love and tenderness He will draw this dark heart into the Perfection of Beauty, Himself.  His fierce jealousy over her will bring her to maturity.

A.                 In verse one, The Song which is Solomon’s is foreshadowing a promise of peace. Solomon means “peaceful” or “prince of peace”. In Song 8:10, she proclaims, “I have found peace before His eyes.”

B.                 In verse two, For Your love is better than wine is foreshadowing a promise of the Bride entering into the superior pleasures of God Himself. Throughout the book she experiences His supernatural power on her emotions as She chooses Him over the passing strength of the world.

C.                 The Bride gives her 2-fold life vision in verse 4: “Draw me away, we will run after you”This is foreshadowing the Bride’s eternal destiny:  A Bride in holy union with Jesus, and a suitable partner, ruling and reigning His kingdom with Him.

D.                 “The King has brought me into His chambers”—I believe this is speaking of the many chambers the King has ordained for her to enter into throughout her journey. An unbelievable promise is given to her: to be escorted by the King Himself into His very chambers. It is already accomplished in the heart of God, it was finished at the cross. The veil has been torn. This is speaking of our journey into the inexhaustible, unsearchable revelations of God that we have been invited into. Each revelation of Him will call for a greater humility in our life. As He increases, we must decrease. For every onward step means greater death to self.

E.                  “We will be glad and rejoice in you”—This is the Song the Bride will sing at the Marriage Supper of the Lamb (Rev. 19:7). He places this song in her heart at the beginning of the journey.

F.                  “We will remember your love more than wine”—She is about to go through the darkest night of human history. She prophesies that the divine might that comes from the strength of His Love will fill her heart instead of the passing strength of this world.

G.                 “Rightly do they love You”—Again she prophesies, “In an hour when Satan will use all His power to allure and deceive the human heart, Rightly do they love You. You are worthy of all my affection. I will not give in to the accusations, the temptations, the deception, or the comforts of this age. My heart belongs to the King of Kings, the Lord of lords, He who is Chief among ten thousand. She says to the dying world, “to know Him is to love Him.”

III.             which is solomon’s—SOng 1:1

A.                 Solomon means “peaceful” or “prince of peace”. Solomon’s earthly reign was foreshadowing Christ’s reign of peace and plenty.

B.                 Within this first line is already foreshadowing a promise: In Song 8:10, the bride gives testimony to finding peace before the eyes of her King.

“I am a wall, and my breasts like towers; then I became in His eyes as one who had found peace.”  Song of Solomon 8:10

      1. Through His leadership she has come from a heart full of accusations, doubts, fears, confusion and shame to a heart full of peace.
      2. The Bride is given a promise, if she will say yes to surrender to this King, she will find peace…even in the darkest night of human history.

C.                 “Peace be within your walls, prosperity within your palaces.” (Ps. 122:  7)

      1. This is ultimately speaking of Israel. But I believe, this is also a picture of the heart that has surrendered to the precious dealings of our Lord.
      2. Through the wilderness, the heart has found peace. There is peace to be found. It is a peace that comes from a seeking heart. It is a peace found in the wilderness.
      3. A gift that comes when we choose to leave all sources of false comfort that does not offer true rest.
      1. It is through the wounds of loneliness, the wounds of rejection,  and the blessed winds of adversity before our immature heart can search and crave true rest.
      1. This is the rest that only comes from the eyes of the King.
      2. Through the wilderness of testing, the Bride will encounter the Prince of Peace. Through her death, she will find a life of peace.

“You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You.” Isaiah 26: 3

        1. Isaiah is writing this to the generation living in the last days.
        2. In the midst of judgment, God gives true peace to those whose minds are “stayed” on the Lord.
        3. There is a peace given to those who meditate on the beauty of the Lord.
        4. “Stayed” implying a constant gazing, a steadfast beholding of Him.

“The glory of the latter temple shall be greater than the former, says the Lord of Hosts. And in this place I will give peace, says the Lord of Hosts. Haggai 2:9

“Great peace have those who keep Your law, and nothing causes them to stumble.” Psalm 119: 165

      1. False peace in the last generation

“The way of peace they have not known, and there is no justice in their ways; They have made themselves crooked paths, whoever takes that way shall not know peace.” Isaiah 59:8

“They have also healed the hurt of my people slightly, saying, ‘peace, peace!” When there is no peace. Jeremiah 6: 14

IV.             The protective kiss of His worD

“Let Him kiss me with the kisses of His word.”  Song 1: 2

A.                 The Bride is awakened to fervency: She cries out for the Kisses of His mouth. This refers to the Holy Spirit working in us to enlarge our capacity:

      1. To experience bridal affection from Jesus (Eph. 3:17-19)
      2. To enjoy the deep things of God (1 Cor. 2:9-11)
      3. To give the deepest affection of our heart to God (Mt. 22:37-40)
      4. To embrace mature bridal partnership in service with Jesus (Mt. 28:19-20)

B.                 Kiss the Son—The Call of the Bridegroom to this generation, the final call (Matt. 25; Psalm 2) The Holy Spirit has been commissioned in this hour to bring the human heart into the experience of the Kiss of the Word. As He escorts us into the experience of the kisses of His Word, we are safe for the coming crisis.

      1. In the hour of His judgments, He calls us to kiss Him (Ps. 2)
        1. There is a great drama of the Father securing the nations for His Son and breaking the nations that resist Him.
        2. The Father has a plan to bring a fully possessed people for His Son, and He will break the nations who come against Him.

C.                 The Spirit and the Bride in unity with the Father’s heart

The Bride asks of the Father, “Let Him kiss me with the kisses of His word.”

The Holy Spirit beckons, “Kiss the Son, lest He be angry and perish in the way.”

      1. It is the heart that has received the Kiss of His word that can Kiss the Son.
      2. To Him who loved me first, I love You too.

D.                 The call to intimacy is the very protection of the heart

Kiss the Son, lest He be angry, and you perish in the way

      1. Exhortation with 2 dimensions
        1. The call to have intimacy with the Godhead
        2. Or else perish in the way—King David is adding the protective nature of the kiss at the end of the age.
        3. It is more than an invitation, it is very life itself. This is the very protection for God’s people.

E.                  There is a premise David is operating from—an eschatological ultimatum. There is an ultimatum God initiated for the End of the Age. David is speaking with prophetic insight… He is saying, The drama at the end of the age is too intense to stand at a distance and remain loyal. When He shakes and dashes the nations if you don’t move into deep fellowship with Him you’ll end up in hostility against Him.

      1. Logic: If you do not kiss Him, you will hate Him. If you do not adore Him, you will accuse Him. If you do not enjoy Him, you will make war with Him.
        1. He is saying BE WISE you people of the earth, BE INSTRUCTED
        2. If you do not move into the kiss of God you will not be able to remain loyal.
        3. The drama is too intense to stand at a distance and remain loyal.
        4. He is coming to distress the nations. He is coming to remove all that hinders love. If you are not in the experience of love, you will end up in the same offense that will sweep across the nations. The only safety is in the experience of the love of God.
        5. Right now, it is so common to live at a comfortable distance.
        6. The only way you’ll understand is to move into His heart. Move into union, into the fellowship of communion with His heart. When the Accuser comes in, you will not be disloyal because you’ve encountered His thoughts and His emotions. Enter into the burning heart of the love of the Son or you will perish in the way!
      2. In the bringing forth a fully possessed people and the breaking those who oppose God with a rod of iron, if you do not kiss Him you will end up standing against Him in the drama of the end of the age.

V.                 The superior pleasures in the grace of God

A.                 What is the desired result of the kisses of His word? Why does she so long for them?  What is the inevitable impact?  Verse 2b supplies the answer.  She gives us her theology.  She uses the word “for”, to signify the purpose of the kisses.  The word “for” sets forth the reason for the kisses.
