C-Hook Name: gridpock.dll/.txt/.scr Date: November 14, 1997 Programmer: CNC Software, Inc. Description: Creates points on pocket boundaries, a grid of points inside the pocket and tangent circles. User is selected for boundaries, as in pocketing. Parameters are: x Create points on boundaries Maximum stepover ______ x Create point grid inside pocket X stepover ______ Y stepover ______ x Create tangent circles / center points o even spacing o center points o auto fill o circles o both Circle diameter ______ X origin ______ Y origin ______ Stock to leave ______ Boundary points: The number of boundary points is computed from the boundary perimeter and the maximum stepover. The actual stepover is adjusted (to a slightly smaller number) so all points are evenly spaced. Grid points: A grid of points that lie inside the outer boundary and outside the islands is created. A point will be not be created if its distance from any boundary is less than "Clearance". X origin and Y origin can be used to obtain a slightly different set of circles (still conforming to the clearance requirement). All points lie at multiples of X stepover and Y stepover relative to X origin / Y origin. All points are created using the main color, main level, current construction plane and depth. Create tangent circles / center points: A grid of tangent circles / center points that lie inside the outer boundary and outside the islands is created. A circle will not be created if its distance from any boundary is less than "Clearance". If "even spacing" is selected, X origin and Y origin can be used to obtain a slightly different set of circles (still conforming to the clearance requirement). The first row of circles will start at minimum y value of the offset contour (not at a grid multiple). The "auto fill" choice usually does a better job of filling boundaries, but does not pack the circles together as closely. The end result may be more or fewer circles than "even spacing". All circles are created using the main color, main level, current construction plane and depth. If "center points" is selected, circles will be drawn in dark gray but will not be saved in the database.
