                      NINE INCH NAILS DISCOGRAPHY
                      ---------------------------

Last Updated: December 2nd, 1995

Current Custodian: Maura C. Daffern <3mcd3@qlink.queensu.ca>

For the HTML version of this document, link to

Disclaimer: this discography is not my original work. 99% of it was
compliled by Mike Roston <ending@rci.ripco.com> and Paul Vargo
<paul@umcc.umich.edu>, who created this thing in the first place. They
did a thoroughly kick ass job, and i bow down before them. I just updated
it a little and created the html version.

NOTE!!!!: If you would like to add bootlegs to this list, do not email
them to me. Mike delegated the Bootleg responsibilities to
Jerry@mail.csh.rit.edu, who has done an exellent job keeping this list up
to date. You can find this list at The Live and Rare Imports Page:
http://www.csh.rit.edu/~jerry/NIN_RI/welcome.html. It is also freqently
posted to alt.music.nin.

Please DO NOT distribute the discography as your own work!

                               NEEDED

Info regarding the live video and audio releases: will these
actually be happening? I have heard rumors that trent decided not to do
this, in the end.
Any info regarding the various formats in which the Halo's were
released. ie, for halo 10, i only have info regarding the CD release...
i need some info about any vinyl or cassette releases that were put out.
Anything else you can think of: side projects, remixes and
production for other artists / bands... you name it :)

============================================================================

BAND INFORMATION (current and Previous):

Note: additional information regarding the members of Nine Inch Nails
can be obtained from the nin FAQ (http://haven.ios.com/~morgoth/nin/nin.html)

*Pre-Nine Inch Nails*

Trent was in the following bands, previous to the creation of Nine Inch
Nails (in probable order)

Option 30 (a band back in Mercer, PA)

The Urge (called a cover band, which implies they covered other
artists)

The Innocents (One record called Living On The St. was released. No other
info. This have been his first Cleveland band)

Slam Bam Boo (have heard this name once or twice, one time even in some
obscure interview. Nothing is known of them)

Lucky Pierre (this was Kevin Mcmahon's band, the guy behind Prick. Trent
played keyboards, live only, somewhere in the 84-85 period. It now also
turns out he appeared on the 1988 Communique EP, see listing below)

The Exotic Birds (see known release below. The band The Problems from the
Light of Day movie may have been the same band)

*During NIN*

Probable Order:

Trent recorded with Pigface as a rotating member.
Trent played with Revolting Cocks during a tour.

*And now NINE INCH NAILS IS TRENT REZNOR*

The live band, and hopefully on the next album as well:

Chris Vrenna(drums, official 2nd member of the band)
Robin Finck(guitars)
Danny Lohner(guitars, bass, keyboard)
James Woolley(keyboardist through most of the 94-95 tour)
Charlie Clouser(keyboardist for conclusion of 95)
Sean Beavan(sound man, who I have been told could be considered
the sixth live band member)

past members:
Richard Patrick(guitars for 89-91 tours. now in Filter, with
Brian 'Moonking' Liesegang, who also has done production
work with NIN)
Jeff Ward(drums, rest in peace. Also in Ministry, Lard,
Low Pop Suicide)
Martin Atkins(played drums in a few shows.)

                ---------------------------------------

In order of release date:

DOWN IN IT (There are two versions of this... a short one, and a long one
that just basically has the same shots, for lack of a better word,
stuttering...)

HEAD LIKE A HOLE (It has been rumored that there are 3 versions of this...)

SIN (unreleased)

PINION (the version in Broken movie is slightly different from the
released version)

WISH (there are edited and unedited MTV versions of this: the edited is
sans the obscenity and little outro of the cage being stormed. The Broken
movie version has parts of the "snuff" film mixed in)

LAST (Rumors abound... please see the note regarding the Broken movie)

HELP ME I AM IN HELL (Rumours, rumours... see note on Broken)

HAPPINESS IN SLAVERY (i know this must have been released commercially at

see the note on the Broken movie)
