1 If a person eats too much fatty food then fat is deposited oh the inside of the arteries and on the
walls of the heart Consequently the blood supply to the heart is reduced because it is obstructed
so the heart has to work harder which could lead to heart disease
2 A healthy diet should include fruit vegetables and food which is high m fibre Sweets should
be avoided and it is a good idea to grill, boil or steam food instead of frying it
3 Smoking causes the heart to beat faster which in turn leads to high blood pressure it also reduces
the quantity of oxygen in blood which is the teason why the heart has to work harder
4 Because regular exercise leads to a healthier heart whereas infrequen^strenuousexercise is likely
to do more harm than good
5 The best way to lose weight is to follow a sensible diet and to change one's eating habits It may

• Picture A shows a modern day family outside their house The family have access to a lot of
facilities Their lifestyle is comfortable and healthy and they have free time to en|oy themselves
Picture B is a scene from my great grandparents time The women are wearing long dresses There
is a horse drawn carnage and the people have oil lamps instead of modern day facilities such as
electricity or cars All in all life was much harder then and definitely less comfortable
• I would prefer the lifestyle in picture A because all the facilities we have allow us free time to do
things we enjoy like playing sports and watching television
• There have been many changes in life in the last 100 years Nowadays there are more facilities
available which make life a lot easier People live longer because there have been great advances
in medicine They have a greater variety of entertainment whereas in the past they entertained
themselves by playing the piano or reading On the other hand life in the past was less stressful and
complicated Moreover there was less pollution and people could enjoy being in the countryside
Nature was still unspoilt
